Just because Haws has been faithfully reproducing the same model watering cans designed by it’s founder, John Haws, over 125 years ago, doesn’t preclude the adoption of new, innovative watering can designs.
Long favored on the Continental market, this French style watering can offers some important adaptation to the customary Haws watering can:
- The “ovalized” body provides a narrow profile allowing carriage closer to ones body- more in line with ones shoulder- rather than a more strenuous, unbalancing distance away from the torso.
- The uninterrupted arched handle from front to back allows for one-handed operation. While it does take a bit more strength, pouring is accomplished single-handedly by tilting the arched handle rather than a two-handed method of holding the weight of the can with a top handle and tipping its content with the other.
- Wrought from heavy gauge steel with a 'hot-dip' galvanized zinc coating to resist rust. A further powder coat finish is applied to provide an alternative British Racing Green finish to the natural galvanized version.
The 1 Gallon Version:
The one gallon Slim Haws Watering Can comes equipped with an oval, solid brass “rose” or head that, in Haws’ hallmark fashion, should be pointed upward to allow the fine, lofty spray to impact under its own gentle weight rather then the pressure of the water in the can.
The 2 Gallon Version:
The two gallon Haws Slim Watering Can is equipped with a more traditional round, forward facing solid brass rose that allows for a quick application of the watering can’s sizable volume.
